The first week here has been so much fun. I have done so many things like hike up an active volcano to see lava, that was a one time thing it was fun but i will never do it again. I also went to Tikal. I am going into my 2nd
week here i am loving it i miss my family i cant wait to see them . i have gotten to bond with people and made new friends. School is going well i am learning so much .

The First Three Days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These first three has have been so much fun. The plane ride was GREAT , i was a little scared when we hit some turbulence but other than that it was a smooth ride.The food here is so different but I am open to try new things.
We started school yesterday and when I got to class i did not no what to teacher was talking about but 10 min. later I was understanding. My teacher pushes me to learn , and I am glad he barley speaks English. Tomorrow I will be going to hike for an hour and a will be going to see a active volcano that has the lava running out. I can't wait it is going to be so exciting.

The Beginning Of My Journey

My name is Breanna Pettus. I am 17 years old and I attend MetEast High School. Next school year I will be a senior and a part of the first graduating class. Some things I enjoy doing are singing, going to church, and eating my favorite food, chicken. My goal is to become a Euro surgeon.I want to go on this trip because I have never traveled out of the country before so this is going to be very exciting. I have always wanted to leave the country and travel around Europe.I am eager to learn Spanish . In my city English is the first language spoken, however,Spanish is second.

I am anticipating going to a place I have never been before. I am wondering about how it feels to be a tourist in a foreign country. I am also wondering about how it is going to be living with people that I do not even know. I am also looking forward to going to Tikal, which was one of the major cultural and population centers of the Maya civilization. Things that I have been thinking about are:What it is going to be like actually living in the culture in Guatemala ?What kind of food do the people of Guatemala eat? Will I be able to eat the food without getting sick?What do people in Guatemala do to have fun?What will the enviornment be like ie., how much hotter is the climate?What will be the difference/smilarity of the school?
